Author: Klaus Baumgart

Age: EYFS/KS1

An enjoyable Christmas version of the original Laura's Star book (doesn't need to be read alongside original). Book can help explore some traditions people have at Christmas: visiting family and friends, Christmas trees, decorations, but also touches on helping others, sharing and emotions.

Children could design Christmas star images or ornaments for the tree. Use glue and paint to make stars from pasta - add glitter for a magical look.

Lots of emotions within story to discuss and create tasks from, such as the excitement of Christmas and the disappointment when the car breaks down.

Look at Christmas traditions around the world (book is originally German). Children could adapt the story to include their personal traditions or traditions from other countries.
