Haiku:

Japanese poem with 17 syllables

3 lines of 5, 7 and then 5 words

Traditionally has imagery of the natural world

Shape:

Describes an object and is shaped the same as the object that the poem is describing

Rhyming Couplets:

2 lines of the same length that rhyme and complete one thought

Cinquain:

Verse of 5 lines that do not rhyme

Narrative:

Tells a story often uses a voice of a narrator and characters

Don't have to follow rhythmic pattern
