Creative writing inspired by a collection of images

Task: write a story including an old lady, a crown, a ring, a bird cage, a key, a robber, the woods, a dove, a gnarled tree, a young girl, milk and cookies.

One breezy autumn afternoon an old lady wandered into the mysterious woods carrying both a golden crown and an expensive ring.

Walking slowly, aided by her walking stick, she eventually reached a huge bird cage. Around her wrinkled neck she had a key on a necklace, which she used to open the gigantic bird cage, before placing the golden crown and expensive ring inside. Turning the key in the lock, she carefully secured the items inside and wandered back through the woods.

Suddenly, a robber appeared and stole the key from the old lady. He ran away quickly, leaving her stranded in the woods.

As he stopped for breath, he noticed a beautiful, pure white dove that seemed to want his attention, so he followed it further into the woods. Eventually, he came across the huge bird cage. Noticing the precious item inside, the robber tried to unlock the bird cage. Success! He was delighted to have discovered such amazing treasures, so he swiftly sneaked off deeper into the woods.

Meanwhile, the poor, sad old lady had come across a gnarled tree in the woods and she sat in its shade, wiping her tears. After a few minutes she heard a whistling sound... What could that be?

It was a friendly young girl, who smiled at the old lady and asked her if she was OK. After the old lady described her dreadful day and the awful robber the young girl decided she would do what she could to help. This made the old lady so happy that she thanked her with some milk and cookies from her bag.

When they had eaten they set off together to find the robber, who they found hiding in the dense woods. Luckily, he couldn't escape and the old lady and young girl took the golden crown and expensive ring back and safely escaped from the robber.
